As you read this title, you know what your “something” is. And just from knowing an array of you out there, your “something” can vary between having some sort of autoimmune condition, going through or recovery from cancer, having diabetes, heart disease, mental health challenges, chronic pain – the list could go on and on. I recently did a Facebook live – short and sweet 3 minute video (check it out here) mentioning this “something”. Here is my perspective on approaching the “something”.

Don’t let it define you! Be bigger than your “something” and tackle it head on. I decided to do that 20 years ago when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In the beginning I went through the normal emotions of being scared, angry and trying to manage all the “what if’s” in my mind. I had the best role model for how to take on my MS and that was my dad. He had many health challenges during his life and always had a smile on his face and didn’t let it get him down. I embraced that approach through him and have never looked back. Is every day perfect? Heck no! Do I have bad days? Absolutely! Do I allow those bad days to drive me onto a negative path? Hell no! I pick myself up and keep going.

See, here’s the thing – I hate being sick – whether it be a cold or an MS flare. I genuinely appreciate every day of just feeling good. So, I work extremely hard at feeling good on the daily. It’s my norm that’s not so hard for me now. It is a way of living that most people can take on and thrive with after making some lifestyle tweaks. Unfortunately, it’s hard for many people to put themselves first and find the value in good health.

We have busy lives managing families, careers, households, finances, social lives, etc. Sadly, there can be a stigma with being healthy and that it’s too much work. Everyone is already working hard at said items above so how would they ever be able to add in a healthy lifestyle into the mix? The trick or my secret sauce is to GO SLOW. How many times have you tried a plan and it worked temporarily but in the long term you ended up putting the weight on and encountering even more health issues? That’s why I am not a fan of the quick fix approach – it doesn’t last for the long-term. We go into my 90 Day Transformation Program focusing on long-term health improvements – not counting calories or pounds. While weighing yourself is a good baseline for getting results, it’s not the end all, be all focus of the program.

Ultimately you have the power and control to make these lifestyle choices. I purely am here as a guide/mentor/coach to show you the way while you are the one taking action. So, what do you say? Are you sick and tired of feeling sick and tired???? It all comes down to you being ready. Ready for what? Ready to feel amazing, have thriving energy, eliminate pain, improve digestion and shed excess weight.
